Frequently Asked Questions
We provide comprehensive speech and language assessments, treatment for all communication areas of concern, motor speech disorders/apraxia therapy, PROMPT therapy, Feeding therapy, and myofunctional therapy, as well as social skills groups
Before the evaluation parents will receive a comprehensive medical and developmental history to complete, which will help us best understand the child's development. During the evaluation the clinician will tailor the assessment tools based on the child's age and areas of concern. The assessment tools can vary, depending on the child's needs, to direct assessment depending on the child's needs. The clinician will make recommendations after the evaluation based on assessment results and will draft a report of the results, including individualized goals and recommendations.
The clinician bases the frequency of therapy on the evaluation results and areas of need. There is no one-size-fits-all recommendation; therefore, the clinician will make the recommendation based on the child's abilities and needs. A re-evaluation is conducted every 6 months or 1 year to determine ongoing services.
We use individualized, play-based therapy focusing on each child's goals, which we formulate based on assessment results. The clinician will implement a child led session following the child's interests and motivation to build trust and develop language skills through a nurturing and playful environment.
We pride ourselves on providing care that has the child's best interest in mind; therefore, our team strives to continue communicating with the child's care team and family to fine tune and tailor their communication goals. Additionally, our clinicians value connection above all which is grounded in the care we provide. We are also unique in that we have multiple bilingual Armenian providers prepared to provide speech therapy in the child's preferred language.
